Medicine from the Bottom of the Sea
It has been proven that this salt lake is a part of the Pannonian Sea. Medicinal properties of the mud from its bottom has long been known, and apparently this is the origin of the name of the village of Melenci (melem=drug, ointment). People come here to treat rheumatic, skin or gynecological diseases. The spa complex is in a pine and lime forest, in a protected area inhabited by more than two hundred bird species. The people of Banat, even residents of Melenci, should recall the time when their ancestors were not waiting for investors or magic wands to arrive from afar, but they knew themselves what to do

Everything and Anything, like at a Fair
One can find everything and anything there, even money. These used to be large marketplaces, strategic goods, cereal and livestock exchanges, and today it looks more like an enormous flea market, but it is still picturesque and useful. If it had not been, it would not have survived since 20 July 1747, when Maria Theresa gave Ruma the first privileges. Every third day in a month, the number of people that gathers here from all sides, domestic and foreign, could create another Ruma. It is simply unbelievable what you can buy here. ”I don’t know what you are looking for, but you will find it here”

Following the Footsteps of God-Man
On the Stone of Anointing, next to the Church of Holy Sepulchre, I pray for a long time, deeply. Tears run down my face, of love, of joy, of grace. I smile. I can fit into a rosary bead. In Golgotha, I put my hand into the hole where the Holy Cross was raised and find a pebble. I still keep it and I’ll take it to my last journey. In Cana of Galilee I touch the stone dishes in which Christ turned water into wine. In Small Galilee, I stand in the place where the Doubting confessed faith. Near the Jaffa Gate, I wait for the Holy Fire, reaching me through many hands. I pull it near my beard, but it doesn’t ignite. Only my heart is on fire

”Ingeniously talented woman”, ”priestess of art”, Ljubica Marić (1909–2003) traveled a long way and enchanted Europe on several occasions. She brought her ”mystical stained glasses of sound” from the greatest depths of sacral tradition, soil and nation, using the entire arsenal of modern music. She studied composition, violin, conducting and piano in Belgrade, Prague, Berlin. She performed with Stravinsky and Bartok, was one of the first female conductors in Europe, member of the Serbian Academy since 1963.
